General Information

McAlpine developed and constructed multiple projects for Ellesmere Cayman Limited (Ellesmere Britannia) over several years resulting in Britannia Golf Club Apartments.

Before building work began, the underlying layer of marshy peat, 15 ft deep, was excavated, refilled, and compacted with clean marl. Construction is of reinforced concrete block on reinforced concrete foundations. The twenty-six apartments, with their coral pink walls, white tiled roofs, and white trim, were built to a design reminiscent of West Indies colonial architecture.

This luxury facility includes both boating and golfing facilities, along with a two-storey golf club measuring 2,500 sq. ft, and provides access to the Hyatt Beach Club.
